(More customer reviews)I install these on my 1998 Dodge Ram 1500. Easy plug-in installation, just as any other light bulb. Don't know if there was a protective coating on the bulb base or the new sockets I installed but it did take several time of plugging and unplugging the light in and out of the socket until the light would come on reliabily. Nice bright white lights, not the pale yellow of regular incandecent bulbs. Seems to burn cooler also, so that should let the sockets last longer. That and combined with the LEDs that should outlast many changes of regular bubls is well worth the extra price.
